Theodosia Oil Terminal provides services involving oil cargo transshipment from railway cars to ships and vice versa. Quality Management System was created on the terminal and it is successfully used.
Today the terminal performs the following functions:
- transshipment of crude oil preserving quality of three simultaneously transferred oil grades;
- transshipment of light oil products preserving quality of four simultaneously transferred oil product grades;
- laboratory testing of motor fuels and analysis of oil, light and black oil products for compliance with requirements of state standards and valid regulations;
- re-equipment, reconstruction and modernization of productive facilities.
The oil complex is a multifunctional technological system which comprises:
- tank farm with total capacity of 280 thousand m3;
- loading railway overpasses. They are able to handle up to 90 railway cars simultaneously. Their daily capacity of handling operations amounts to 40 thousand tons of oil cargoes;
- power supply system of technological processes;
- pumping stations that perform handling operations with railway cars. Their capacity makes up to 1500 t/h and loading operations with ships – up to 3000 t/h;
- a switching unit of oil cargo flows;
- a modern laboratory for testing oil and oil products;
- water treatment facilities which include waste-water treatment plant and a complex for oil sludge processing.
Entry depth in Theodosia gulf is 85 feet (25.91 m), depth of a berthing line is 54 feet (16.46 m).
Ship handling is organized on two offshore moorings “Severnyy” (“Northern”) (ships with deadweight from 5 to 125 thousand tons) and “Yuzhnyy” (“Southern”) (from 3 to 60 thousand tons).
The moorings are equipped by pipelines and facilities for handling of four light oil product grades and also three crude oil grades.
